Should I try to re-peirce my industrial?

I had an industrial for about 1 1/2 years, and it never fully healed. it was irritated all the time, and very sensitive. about 1 1/2 years ago I took it out for practice, and it closed over the course of a few hours, so I lost it. I'm thinking of giving it another try. Is there any chance that if I go to a better peircer it will work out this time?
