Summary report on Groovy programming language???

Java ain't MS. I don't like the language strictly because of the name -- 'Groovy' -- gives me that fukking song from the Lil' Rascals in my head and I don't get any code done. However, Groovy is touted to be one of the javax.script.ScriptEngine supported features -- you can gain all access to the java library just using your choice of php, Groovy, Scheme, java. However, I like JavaFX better. JavaFX was dropped by Oracle, may come back as OpenSource.
