When using a sleep sack, what should babies wear?

I'm having my first child in a few months and I don't want to use blankets for nightime sleeping in the basinette/crib until he/she can roll over. I want to use a sleep sack. My question is, what should babies wear underneath the sleep sack? Just a onesie and socks? Footsie pajamas?
